Washington Wrestling Report on Twitter

Curious why this sport (especially in WA) doesn't utilize social media.

Everyone is on it nowadays, why isn't this website (which is fairly active) trying to reach more people by being on twitter or instagram.

Twitter would be a great place to expand discussion and outreach across the state.

This site preceded My Space, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. It is still here and used by thousands of fans each year. It is not fancy but there is plenty of room to expand right here. Just jump in on the debates is all it takes. More avenues available just means a further dilution of conversations. Wrestling has a relatively small base of passionate fans that follow intensly when their family wrestles but their interest, and web site use, generally ends with high school graduation. Just the facts ma'am.

I was a wrestler when this site was popular and twitter/social media were non-existent. Now, Washington Wrestling needs to evolve and expand.

Keep the brand of "Washington Wrestling Report" but expand your network to all platforms.

Simple.

You can literally do everything you’re claiming on here - on twitter. And reach more people. Wrestling (especially in WA) is so behind the times.

There is a FB page-more old folk speed- to my knowledge this is still the happening place not the FB page.

On Facebook you have to use your real profile so people know who you are. You can't be as honest and truthful there because people get butt hurt, they know who you you are and then hate you for it. No one has time or desire for that so we stay here where we can get real. If I think little Johnny is nowhere near as good as little Bobby I can say that here and not have Johnny's dad/mom hate me because he/she got butt hurt by my opinion. It's just an opinion man.

That is absurd to suggest that you should be able to get on any platform anonymously so you can harass and slander wrestlers, parents, coaches, refs, etc. While we all agree in freedom of speech, if this board required each poster to use their real name a lot of negativity would go away because everyone would be held accountable, just like other social media mentioned. You, me, everyone would be accountable. How pleasant would that be..

Elon Musk didn't like something that he saw so he just bought it and then is moving to create it in his own image. How about someone here make and effort to create a Twitter site for wrestling? Maybe Agreed could do that? How pleasant would that be? He could give the people another option based on his on personal values of what is right and wrong.

Truly being honest on a forum is not the same thing as "trashing people" in my opinion. I would like to see some of you define what trashing people is here so we can discuss if that actually occurs with a high frequency.

Is it the truth? If someone says the truth about someone else, or a situation, in an anonymous way, is that trashing them or is that just being honest? Your opinions on this subject are requested.

The initial post was about extending the wrestling report to another social media, but then was mentioned that it could be a more negative experience. If you read the posts, people actually are pushing for the opportunity for negativity instead of talking about wrestling in a positive way. What is so bad in their lives that they NEED to continuously WANT to do that? Trashing, bashing, slandering, defaming, harassing, all have definitive meanings you can look up, and although some might have their own feelings on what they mean, none are positive. So, what is it you want? To be able to talk about others in a negative way to make yourself feel better? The ONLY reason anyone would want to be anonymous and speak negatively about wrestling or people is so they don't have to face consequences. Teachers or coaches cant or they'd lose their job. Companies would fire those who publicly harass others as it "doesn't align with their opinions". If a coach screws up do you come here to roast him? If a ref screws up a call do you come here to bash him? There can be discussion sure, but do two wrongs make a right?
