Please explain the Washington State Hall of Fame Inductions

Asking for a friend here …

1 Are there even qualifications outside of time spent coaching that the state uses to choose the guys that go into the hall of fame.

2. Is their any minority coaches that would qualify based on the criteria used. I am not saying that any racism is being used here but damn, I see some coaches out there that MUST BE being overlooked or missed based on what I have seen this state put into its coaching hall of fame.

3. Does the hall of fame feel like they HAVE to come up with people every year? Our hall of fame is more like the Hall of “ alright “

4 who the hell chooses who goes into the hall of fame ?

5 Last question…

Has anyone else looked at the hall of fame inductions the last 10 years?

Holy crap! I know WA wrestling really really well and I can’t believe some of the good men that have been put in the hof … and should never of even gotten a sniff at the HOF.

Cmon now! This has got to be a but buddy good ole boy deal for sure!

Next thing ya know Brad Luvass is going to be in the HOF after his long career at UofO and the work he did at Highline U and the piggyback job here in O town. ( it’s a joke Bradley)

It seems like every Hall of Fame has some debatable members. I can think of a few that are deserving of entry into the Hall. Without bashing on anyone in the Hall, who do you think is deserving?

Personally I don’t believe Donovan, The Zombies, Parliament and the Notorious BIG belong in the Rock HOF.

Even Amway has a HOF. Let’s move on.

Donovan and The Zombies belong in the ROCK HOF. Parliament and the Notorious BIG belong in something other than a ROCK HOF. Maybe a hip hop HOF?

There is always going to be a difference of opinion. I believe the WSWCA and the HOF Board induct these coaches, but I could be wrong. What is the criteria and is it posted somewhere or is it as mentioned above, kind of like "he's our buddy lets get him in"? Some transparency would be great but it might already be available somewhere to see?

Hall of Fame Eligibility: A nominee is eligible upon retiring from active coaching for two consecutive state tournaments. Nominees should have completed a minimum of ten years as an Interscholastic Wrestling Coach in the state of Washington. Active coaches may be nominated if they have coached for twenty years. Recipients of the Tomaras Award or Contributors Award who are not coaches can be nominated to the Hall of Fame as an Honorary Member.

Nomination Procedure: Anyone can nominate a retired coach for the Hall of Fame, however, if the nominator is not a current wrestling coach in the state of Washington or a member of the WSWCA Hall of Fame they must secure an active coach as a sponsor. Deadline for submitting nominations will be April 1 of each year.

Hey now! It seems maybe I triggered ya some how with the Orting diversity comment.

All I was saying was that there may be some guys that have been overlooked and that there may be some brown guys that may have been overlooked in the past for a few different reasons.

What am I wrong about?

Freaking blow dart over here is getting upset!
