Coaches

Are there any current coaches in place for 20+ years and still coaching? As far as the girls programs are there coaches that have been there since the start?

Barnes (just retired ): over 30 years at Lake
Fruend about 30 years at Kelso
McLean 20+ years at Mead, or very close

Yes, my old coach, hall of famer Ron Lepper. He's a fixture in my old hometown, has been our wrestling coach since 1995. Other than a year or two transition period, I believe my school has had just two enduring, legacy coaches in its long history. Roland Holterman started our program in 1964, retired in 1990, Lepper took over a few years later. Our school was one of if not the very first girls program in the state. We had a full roster that very first season, won the very first official title.

We also had several girls who competed in the very first single A state boys meet in 1968 and had girls in the very first round-robin state girls invitationals in 2005 (may be off a year or two)

Whoops, I think I got that wrong. My HS alma mater was not the first girls program to win a title, that would be Hoquiam in 2007, I think? We won it that next year in 2008.

Selah head coach Ken Mozingo 5 years as the assistant 17 as the head coach however he did retire from coaching at the finish of this season.

Is there a minimum requirement to be inducted into the hall of fame? I’ve heard 10 years ,15 and 20 years to be inducted?
