Sooooo lil Jonny started school a year late because of maturity reasons only of course... then he gets held back a year... now gets a bridge year. We will have 20 possibly 21 year old HS seniors rolling with 14/15 year old frosh.... seems legit all the way around....

I sure wouldn't have wanted to do it in high school as didn't like any of the grade below me; why would I want to spend a whole year in their class. I don't think many will do this for sports. Those that are at the top and care enough to repeat a grade for "glory" are probably the ones most likely not to repeat and move on to college and get out of high school. Don't think this is a sports thing. I think it is really just a factor of academics. There are probably kids out there that received Ds or Fs without having normal in-person school and it may have screwed up their chance to get into college or the one they want to attend. This is a opportunity to fix those bad grades and have them erased so they can get into the college they want. I think it can help some kids out that need it.
