National rankings

Just saw a post on FB that née ranking came out and a few of our own WA wrestlers made the cut.

Gage Cook #11 @220
Isaiah Anderson #19 @195
C.J. Hamblin #19 @160
Darion Johnson #25 @170

These are the same guys doing it year after year.
The best wrestlers in the nation find a way to wrestle, the leftovers have their daddy defend them and say it's because of forfeits.

The best wrestlers in the nation don’t go to these “nationals” My boy Figueroa doesn’t need his dad reminding us every other day like some of these fat sandals wearing dads with his US flag shorts do. Or maybe it’s their moms... Sorry ma’am!

Not sure what we did to Flowrestling...Those four Washington kids should be in their Ranking but all they have is CJ. Drew Roberts (Idaho) had a great November beating 2 solid top 10 guys to propel him into Flo's top 10. Crescent Valley out of Oregon as a team is top 10. Walter, Rowley, Whisenhunt and Lamers! Roberts use to be there! Corvallis is definitely on the map for Oregon wrestling. Oregon had 2 heavys in the rankings as well. Rankings are more someone's opinion than anything else. We should see more of our kids in other rankings as the popularity of these team duals grows and they get more exposure. Drew Robert is a great example! Unranked to WHO THE HELL IS THIS KID in a weekend!

I don't know about the popularity contest. Name a kid that's ranked because of his popularity? FLO has all the right kids but I think they neglect to do their homework especially if they're researching results. Obviously they look at events that FLO has covered and not much else. Trackwrestling does the same. I remember when Trackwrestling had their "Future Olympians" and basically you had parents that ran all over the country to Trackwrestling run events so Junior could rack up their points towards Future Olympians...dumb dad I was, I didn't even know that was a thing!😂

Great posts Bob and I completely agree. Flo has solid wrestlers on their ranking and I can't see one that's there due to popularity. I do believe WA State gets the curve ball a tad and there's a few here who no question should be top20 easy.
Rankings though are just someone's opinion (as you stated) and you can go to other wrestling website rankings and find different opinions. At the end of the day the rankings never won a match for my kid. Probably just painted a bigger bullseye on him. 🎯

Do we have any kids going D1 next year. Top 20 all go D1 . Go to flow events. All American you will be ranked. Super 32/ Ironman/ Powerade/ Virginia beach world teams Fargo. All on the other side of the Mississippi river hummmmmmmmm

I thought Fargo was on this side of Mississippi River? Go to Vegas that’s not too far. Go to Doc Buchanan in California. That will catch you some attention.

ok nit pick it is north and west and is the lowest on that list. Washington shows well at duals, Fargo Reno JUST NOT THE SAME AS SUPPER 32, IRON MAN OR POWERADE

Washington sent quite a few kids to Super 32. Some brackets were deeper than others but that is one of a few tournaments on the east side where you better be ready to battle every match and not placing top 8 doesn't mean much because most of those kids have already committed or they're on someone 's radar. Ironman, Beast of the East, Powerade...it's the gauntlet if you manage to hit them all!7011134

Ironman has been canceled and Powerade has been moved to the end of January and the venue I believe was changed as well.

opps and the Beast of the east Sorry 206 but the three I listed and the beast. Minnesota duals. Doc on the west coast but it is on the west coast. Just make the blood round of any of them you are on radar or beat a guy that is on radar. To do so go east young man.

I am grateful for all of our state's kids being recognized, they've earned it! Team WA is legit and deserves recognition!
