Anyone know what’s going on with this guy? Tough wrestler and I enjoyed watching this kid wrestle would just like to know if anyone knows what going on with him

I was wondering the same thing. I saw on Facebook that Coach Pete De La Rosa is hosting a Prayer for ASG on Zoom so I came here to see if anyone knew what was up. Kid wrestles hard, hope he's alright.

ASG is in the hospital. Just say prayers and send positive thoughts. Let's not turn this post into a mockery about who, why and where, just support the young man. I believe Pete is having a zoom prayer and contact him if you would like to join.

I don't believe anyone was trying to make a mockery of the situation. I know for me at least I heard about the situation very vaguely and came here out of curiosity and concern over one of our state's own. I also saw that there is a GoFundMe page set up for those who would like to aid financially.

Usually the circumstances are bad when people are very vague or offer no details. Honesty can go a long way in these situations and can be a learning opportunity even it is bad. Personally I would like to know the circumstances before I donate to a go fund me.

Agreed asking for donations to go fund me creates a different dynamic imo.No shame in asking for help regardless of the situaton. Even more so in these messed up times.

2A Coach, Steve and Logic. It is very uneasy for me to see your consistent participation and inquiry on this thread like your waiting for the winning lottery numbers. As stated on the thread yesterday and on the GoFundMe you all were made aware he is hospitalized and in a coma. Why are the 3 of you so persistent in wanting to know when, why, and how? Are you nonchalantly trying to stir sh!t up or just so bored in your own lives you need some action? I donated without knowing the exact cause because it may help save a young mans life, someone who also represented our state as a successful wrestler. If the three of you need to know soooo badly make some calls off the message board. Maybe I should make another donation in lieu of the three of you!? Think of a rebuttal that doesn't make you look worse and post it so we can all see your true colors.

I agree that generally medical condition, diagnosis, prognosis can a touchy subject. Witness the hippa regulations. At the same time people are concerned, Was he the victim of a crime? an accident? Illness mental or otherwise? There have been instances on this message board where it was acknowledged that a prominent former wrestler took his own life. That is never a good thing but if the message can get to others struggling with the same issues that its ok to reach out and ask for help. Also being a little over dramatic in insinuating that by donating to a go fund me page will actually help save his life?

I think the point made was donate for the sake of helping. The rumor mongrels just want to discuss why he is ill and how much better they are. Point well taken. Nowhere was it asked for any donation.

I am one of the few posters who uses my name. You are making assumptions about my inquiries and me personally when I am simply asking what happened. I post on here quite often. If you look at my history on the board it’s about talking up kids and match ups. I will debate matches and who I think is better. If a kid/coach/parent/spectator has done something questionable, I will say it. I feel I’m a huge supporter of Washington wrestling so I’m not sure why asking the question was such a disrespectful thing. Sorry I offended you.

There's a few kids lately with "go fund me" pages. They are asking for money for tournaments. Not even a fundraiser. Just a simple give me money because I'm asking.
I've seen hundreds and even thousands given to these kids. How ridiculous. Now here's a family with a kid we all know is on life support android hanging on by a thread, and you choose this scenario to stand your "go fund me" questionear?
Maybe think about that a moment. Didn't see you in here asking why those kids have a go fund me page when they don't even want to rake leaf's or fundraise

I don't like the Go Fund Me pages for those things either and I can choose not to donate to kids tournaments. Difference is on those pages they say what the circumstances are. Again, what is so offensive to asking what happened?

Steve I wouldn't say asking is "offensive", but it is disrespectful in my opinion. If you can't see that then it is simply just a cultural difference. Seems some people care more about what happened rather than just simply wishing/praying the best for him.

You have to be totally out of touch with what is going on in our society today.... With all the scams going on today it would be a cold day in HELL before I gave one penny to a fund me page WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT HAPPENED. YA I'll just put on a blindfold with my mask like the democommies want us to do and just give what little money I have to WHO KNOWS WHAT. I do not have any idea who this kid is, but he could have overdosed, he could have been doing an armed robbery, could have been a drunk driver, could have been down in the chop zone and on and on.... YOU THINK ABOUT IT !!! Only a fool gives away money to someone they have never known and for what ???? Dumb just flat out DUMB.

Unsure how this got off track.

The OP was complimentary to the wrestler and sensitive to the situation.

Any question on what happened is legitimate in my opinion. If this was health related or mental health related it could be an important thing to know for the wrestling community.

Why you ask? It could give a good lesson and reminder to be open to hearing our own children and give an opportunity for a discussion about the subject.

Unfortunately when no facts are given but donations are asked for it leaves it wide open for speculation even if it is legitimately out of concern for the young man and his family.

No doubt we all wish them the best and hope he has a complete recovery.

The reality is no one is obligated to post intimate details about something on a message board, despite the critics best efforts. The OP shared that this young man is ill, and the following 4 posts were supportive, didn't ask for money, and gave positive thoughts. It was after that where bored people started the inquiry and brought up the donations, which had all the information on the GoFundMe for them. You do not need to know if there was a crime, an accident, mental illness, etc on a message board if the OP didn't feel it was right to post. There is no wrestling fan in the state despite who you think you are that "deserves" to know until it's time for you to know, if ever. I do know, and it wasn't any of the things listed above, so now many of you can sleep tight. Either go to the GoFundMe and read about what you need to know, or don't go there. At least have some respect to Adrian and his family and send good thoughts, that costs nothing!

I too am not sure what difference it makes what happened. A young man is in the hospital ICU and is fighting for his life. He is a good kid and a Wa State National Team member.
The cause has been posted on his Facebook page through a link. If you must know.
I cannot imagine what his parents are going through. My heart is with them and his friends.

I don't believe anyone would be trying to conflate any issues other than hoping and praying for this young man's recovery.

The information is indeed public, but rather than attachment some element of shame to this tragedy, there is opportunity to discuss the matter with our own children.

Both wishing him an absolute recovery and discussing the seriousness of this matter in the community should be encouraged.

Maybe not on a message board, but similar to the conversation I just had with my son. I had never actually had this particular conversation since I believe he would make the smart choice, and that is absolute pure ignorance on my part.

I have no interest in debating this, but my opinion is a lot can be learned from this tragedy and there should be absolutely no shame attached.

I know Adrian's grandmother and talked with her today and then I also went to the CaringBridge.org website. She said I should feel free to share this info. He is doing better and moved from ICU to a recovery center. Still in bad shape but his Glasgow Coma Scale scores have improved. Keep thinking good thoughts for this young man as he battles to live.
