Dual teams

WIAA is B.S but I truly believe we will not play sports this year in Wa. On the brightside we have 2 teams that traveled to Florida for duals let's cheer and root for them. Might be all we get.

Many of the wrestlers are from the Team WA Junior team with some other up-and-comers. There is one team from Eastern WA and one from Western WA. The Sunshine Preseason Nationals is available to watch on Track Wrestling live on Saturday & Sunday (if you have a Gold membership). The teams and wrestlers are not posted yet but should be after weigh-ins tomorrow afternoon.

Goodluck to Ford Dynasty and Victory Wrestling! The two dual teams in Florida. What a great opportunity and a fun experience for these kids. Looking forward to watching them on track!

It looks like both Ford Dynasty and Victory could (should) win their pools. Group 2 and group 8 on trackwrestling.

The good news...both Washington teams are in the Gold Pool! The bad news is...they will most likely see each other in the quarters. Both teams are looking pretty dominant!

I went back and watched the match and the other kid smacked our kid with a couple of hard collar tie attempts that were obviously flagrant. The kid was frustrated and our kid kept the pressure on him. Our kid could have been better about getting off the kid when time expired but he was probably still not happy about being slapped 3-4 times. There was an adult from the other team that snapped but got stopped by one of their wrestlers and it got broke up quickly. As for the leadership...you could see coach Ford and the opposing coaches patting each other on the back and shaking hands. All good...I blame COVID.

Collar ties and head snaps are supposed to be pretty hard. I think in Washington we are pretty soft with them. They will get a reality check if they wrestle at the next level. On another note, heard there was some drama with one of our teams down there.

Why does everyone instead of saying nice job to the coaches and kids that did their best have to try to dig up something to bash them for?
The Coaches and kids did a great job and if you think you can do better please sign up next year.

Easy big fella! The poster didn’t say anything about the job the team or wrestlers did! It now that you mentioned it, after they wrestled JV kids and looked like world beaters, hard collar ties did them in. Just learn from it and make adjustments

Actually, my post was directed at others who brought up Coach Ford's integrity, and a certain wrestler.
Read all the posts and I'm sure you'll figure it out. At least one would think so.
Sorry if my response subject was not changed.
But in the end, they did attack the coach and somewhat the wrestler.
I think they all did a great job representing our state, and should be commended. Especially the individuals who are behind the long hours of creating these solid teams.
Without them our kids would probably be at home playing Xbox like a few complaining in here's kids probably are each & every day.

I whole heartedly agree with everything you said Bob. With the lockdown and Covid, coupled with the tragic loses we suffered in our WA Wrestling community with suicide and an increasing concern for the kids with mental health and depression here in WA State... I for one is thankful that FordDynasty and Victory is bringing kids to places that allows them to participate in the sport they love and hang with their friends to bond and create lasting memories that will stay with them long after they are done on the mat.

Also I love the energy of the team and Greg Ford in these matches... they are their own hype man and cheer squad... and they got each others back (like a team should),
genuinely got each others back. It was fun to be around and fun to watch them having fun.

Yeah by the other team. The other team rushed team dynasty's bench not the other way around. Way to have Washingtons back classy.

It wasn't the only sore spot when it comes to behavior, the other team had their own issues. Teams like this need to recognize they are representing our whole state and make everyone look bad when these types of things happen.

I always laugh about the idea of a wrestling team "fighting" when they had a chance to wrestle right before that.

Representing the entire state.. LOL. If outsiders think a few people represent a state, wow ok. I hope all the residents of the state aren’t generalized by Seattle’s Chaz Reidents/occupiers. Like I would never generalize an entire nation of police by the poor actions of a few. But you may be right, because if you watched TV this summer, you definitely saw that. Cheers to more wrestling and when kids do screw up, they be held accountable but also not forever chastised by a single bad choice.

2 different sports..wrestling is wrestling. Fighting is Fighting... sometimes both are needed

I guess, but maybe the team who wanted to fight should have simply taken the aggression out on the mat.

Unsure exactly what went on to provoke a fight, but it would be interesting to hear the whole story if someone can be objective about it.

We also have several teams built and going to duals prior to salt lake slam.
