Bet he regrets posting that on facebook but once you put it out there its there forever.Sure cops have a tough job but they signed on with the mission to serve and protect.Those cops crossed the line.

Not sure what he was trying to prove - what that officer did is not part of any training of any law enforcement procedures. Surprising too that it was a veteran officer who did this. Just makes one wonder how much of that he has gotten away with. I know it may be hard to believe, but yes, there are racist cops that will treat you differently depending on the color of your skin. Thankfully I'm old and white and can say with conviction that had that been me, even if I was mouthing off to them - I would not have ended up like that.

Idk if that cop is a racist, just an asshole or both, but the same exact thing happened to a white guy a couple years ago in Dallas.

Coach Hollenbeck seems like a good guy that made a terrible lapse in judgement. How could you think this would go over well? The principle from Camas was fired for saying, “Not gonna lie, seems to me that karma caught up with a rapist today” about Kobe's death. Many other examples across the state and nation about these off the cuff comments will come back to bite you.

I don't see how he could remain a coach. I think it was a thoughtless post, insensitive and for as much experience as he has in grappling and wrestling he didn't do anything close to what was done to George Floyd. It seemed more mocking and making light of a man that lost his life.

You gotta think before you post people.

The lady in Central Park that called the police on a black guy for no apparent reason. After the video was posted, her name was found in a few hours, her employer was bombarded with calls, messages and emails. Within three days of the incident, she was fired, I heard she might lose her lease and her dog was taken away from the place she rescued it. Yeah, people found out where she got her dog and that rescue organization contacted her and got the dog back.

I'm not against public shaming for somethings. I think it was the only call to make in firing Coach Hollenbeck, but that should be the end of it. I don't like how it becomes a witch hunt and the public is looking to destroy every facet of someones life.

I don't know Coach Hollenbeck's thoughts on things or what motivated him to do this, but yeah, he's done with school wrestling. Maybe coaching altogether. I have mixed feelings about that.

My issue is that he seems to be ok with the facebook post itself. He is quoted as saying 'be good to each other,""don't be too quick to judge police officers,"and he thanks the Bethel school district...Nowhere does he apologize or say in hindsight that he wouldn't do it differently,etc.I mean we all make mistakes and I'm sure most of us have sent a text,email,faceboook,instagram,etc post that we wish we wouldn't have sent.The fact that he won't admit it was a mistake leads one to believe that he actually thinks what those cops did was ok?

I don’t think he is saying what they did was okay. What he was pointing out is that a knee to the back of the neck doesn’t stop your airflow. When the toxicology comes back you will see any number of things. One of the newer medical terms would be, “excited delirium”. Basically someone’s gets so worked up that their organs start shutting down. Having said that, the Cops should have sat him up after the fight was over. Unfortunately now you have every cop in the U.S. under attack .

At the end of the day, he died in the custody of the police. They performed a move that is prohibited. This is a scene that has been played over and over again. Yet it keeps happening.

What he was saying is it was no big deal. It is a big deal, a man lost his life, and 4 police lost their careers as they should.

When you said "Unfortunately now you have every cop in the U.S. under attack." you got that wrong, this blame for the attack on the police is because of the police that mishandled the arrest of George Floyd. They are at fault, they didn't follow procedures and they killed a man that didn't deserve it. So blame those 4 officers and all the silent ones that are complicit to these type of abuse.

Unfortunately most cops don't enter the profession with the ideal of "to protect and serve"most of them couldn't get hired on as firefighters (harder entrance exam) and it's one of the few professions where you can earn a living wage,benefits,retirement,without a college degree,technical school, apprenticeship.And yeah some are just there to be "cowboys"and the adrenaline rush.

I totally agree with that not all cops are bad. In fact I would even say just a handful of cops have questionable ethics. We cannot label all cops as bad. But there is a big double standard. Not all Mexicans are rapists and Drug dealers , not all Muslims are terrorists, not all Blacks are thugs and gang Members not all Asians brought the virus and not all whites are racists. We have a long way to go to get to a point where we respect each other because we don’t feel intimidated or insecure by differences. The leadership of this country at all levels needs to step up in this arena or we will lose what it took hundreds of years to build.

Once upon a time people had respect for their elders, once upon a time people loved America, once upon a time people asked what they can do for their country, AND ONCE UPON TIME PEOPLE DID WHAT A COP ASKED THEM TO DO. Today people ignore the police when they are talking to them and just walk away, once upon a time that would get you a fist in the face. ONCE UPON A TIME PEOPLE DID NOT START FIGHTS WITH THE POLICE, NOW THEY DO IT JUST FOR FUN. Now it's gimme gimme gimme and a herion addict and illegals are like gods. Now old white people in nursing homes are beating to death BY BLACK people and not one word by the media. YES, THE USA IS CHANGING AND I AM GLAD I WON'T BE AROUND TO SEE COMMUNISUN GET A STRONGER HOLD.

Dude even if some of that stuff happens , I have not seen the tape yet of this man resisting, fleeing, being a danger to the police etc. unless some other evidence comes along, the previous post is correct. He died in the custody of police. Now maybe the will reveal a heat attack as COD or something crazy, but bottom line he passed while a mans knee was in the back of his neck. A sad day for America.

Hollenbeck's whole argument is dumb and shows a lack of logic and intelligence. Just because a knee to the back of his neck doesn't cause death is irrelevant to whether it did in the George Floyd case. Many types of force that are unnecessary and outside police procedures may result in death to one person, but not another.

Heck, people get shot and live - does that mean its okay to shoot someone unnecessarily because it doesn't always result in death. Procedures are there for a reason, and struggling to breathe when being arrested for a misdemeanor does not allow a cop to be judge, jury, and executioner.

I would never be a cop!!! I would totally lose it if some PUNK spit on me!!! I would totally lose it if someone shot my partner while sitting in my patrol car!!! I would totally lose it, when seeing girls faces black and blue!!! I would totally lose it knowing that 5 punks raped a 11 year old girl after obummer pardoned them!!!! You can go on and on but until you have seen things like this yourself you can NEVER understand... Just take your little pea brain and blame the cops, but I know the other side, I have seen it first hand with my own eyes... The total DISRESPECT for the cops by many many blacks is a disgrace to the blacks in America AND THAT IS THE CAUSE OF MOST INCIDENTS... Did this cop go to far HELL YES!!! What would I have done? After he spit I would have masked him and hog tied him then threw in the back of a cop van.... And he would have had a hell of a shiner when he got out of that van.

Glad your not a cop, sounds like you wouldn't be able to handle it. Imagine how the innocent feel who are treated this way by law enforcement and then are not believed - and it happens. Thank God for video. A huge issue is that our best and brightest aren't going into law enforcement (doesn't pay enough), so we we're left with too many power drunk former HS losers who can't handle the difficult jobs they have and end up snapping when they're unable to take the inherent stress of the job.

Once upon a time it was just rumors, stories that black people were abused on a consistent basis by the police.

Once upon a time there weren't cell phones to document said abuse.

Once upon a time there wasn't social media and people depended 100% on the establishment media that rarely if ever took up these stories.

Once upon a time white people felt like kings of this country and were able to turn a blind eye to abuse.

Once upon a time it was ok to be a racist, now I am sorry you are not comfortable in the new world but maybe the fact that people are demanding to live with that same American values of equality and human rights that you've always enjoyed, maybe that makes you uncomfortable. So maybe the problem is people like you.

Excessive use of force by SOME police happens to people of EVERY race. It’s not only a black phenomena. The cop was wrong to continue holding Floyd down when he begged for his life but at this point there hasn’t been any evidence it was racially motivated.

If you think Law enforcement interacts with minorities the same why as they do with white's you're either extremely uneducated, willfully ignorant, or are an active part of the problem. Our nation (heck, even before we were a nation) has de-humanized African-Americans and viewed them as a lesser form of humanity, if human at all, and not worthy of the same dignity and respect we afford white people. This type of activity has always gone on, the only difference is that now it is being recorded. And with Stephen Miller running the White House, it's regaining acceptance and momentum.

Who said they were disproportionately killed by police? So you think there’s a proportionate amount of unarmed human who aren’t resisting that is acceptable for police to kill using excessive force? We should only care about the black people who are above the proportional percentage of the population who are killed by police? You’d think we could all just get behind no humans should be mistreated by police. Not just those outside the percent of population. We should all be upset when any human life is unnecessarily ended by the police regardless of the color of their skin.
