Here we have a High School coach reportedly goes to an off-season RMN tournament and yells some tips from afar to a wrestler he may know. Not in his corner, but behind his corner. Or maybe he was behind someone who was behind someone who was in the corner ...LOL . It's not even clear if the kid is or could be a wrestler from his HS. No facts, sketchy context.
Just doesn't add up to some nefarious illegal activity that the original poster implied with his "NUTS" comment.
The main intent of the rule set is to curtail/prevent organized team practices/workouts in the off season. Like I said, this is all arguable, but an offseason HS coach yelling some tips to a wrestler hardly seems to fit the bill of "Openly coaching out of season" .
Some pretty petty shit IMHO.
Furthermore, out of season rules were established to provide kids with an honest chance to do other sports without alienating themselves from their coaches in other sports. Once again, no fit here.
Over the years, I've seen many coaches interpret the reason for the rules as giving them a convenient and justifiable excuse for punching out after state. Then they get petty, jealous and vindicative if it looks like some coaches remain engaged in the sport.
Whether intended or not, the net effect of the original post comes off as a smear attempt at best.
Not Cool
