I watched a couple 3a and 4a semi finals matches at 144 that were super skilled, tough and exciting.

It looks like they matched the top 2 kids on the same side of the bracket at a bunch of different weight classes. I am sure either of the kids losing in the competitive semi's would win in the finals.

Common sense took a back seat to their criteria.
