La Salle High School in Yakima has started a non-profit wrestling club that focuses on outreach to the entire Yakima Community. The club supports athletes in our area who may not otherwise have access to extra training due to factors such as lack of experience, financial resources, family support, transportation, etc. Many kids simply can’t meet the various expectations more competitive clubs may require.

Currently, the club provides rides for five athletes who would otherwise be unable to attend. While the club operates independently without financial assistance from La Salle, the school supports the initiative by providing practice space and a few supplies. All other expenses (mats, shoes, singlets, tape, cleaning supplies, camps, etc.) will be covered through donations or fundraising efforts.
