The Washington Wrestling Report (WWR) Rankings from THIS site have been around and used by the media for the past 20+ years. I think the Washington Wrestling Network has been around for about 6-12 months, but I could be wrong on that time frame. These are two totally separate entities, and have no current affiliation or collaboration, but I do enjoy their podcasts. I have known the principles of that group since they were kids or high school wrestlers. Good guys.

The rankings here at the WWR are based on high school resume. When I personally did the rankings many years ago, I took into account their USAW kids wrestling results to rank highly accomplished freshmen that had potential to make waves. It was easy for me because I was coaching and reffing with our national teams so I personally knew who the up and comers were. Our rankers now don't rank freshmen until they start to knock off wrestlers that are ranked above them. If their team competes at bigger tournaments then they get moved into the rankings based on their current HS success. The cream rises to the top of the rankigs rapidly if they are a hard charger.
