Statement of Apology:
In regards to the disappointing news about the cancellation of the dual, for those that do not know this decision came from above. People like to comment on things they are not aware of, but at the end of the day it’s their opinion. The dual was canceled because of a mis communication in regards to who was bringing their trainer. The host site is usually responsible for providing a trainer. Since we were at a nuetral site. When we are at home our trainers are on site and helping. Since we were at a nuetral site NIC or us did not have trainers. After one call with Coach Chris Feist there were multiple trainers on site in efforts to preserve the match. Our Trainer expressed his concern that there would not be adequate college trainers on site and after notifying our AD the decision came from above to cancel. This was last minute and unfortunate but we have to be circumstance proof and accept the decision that was made and move forward.
I want to thank Washington Wrestling Network for all of the promo and work that they did on their end to promote this event. We are sorry that we were not able to make this event a go but it was not something that I wanted to do. As a state we have to continue to support each other and help push each other to the top in stead of try and drag them down. I am thankful that North Idaho College gave us the opportunity to compete against them at the number 1 NJCAA team. Thank you Derrick Booth for this opportunity and I hope that we can continue to work together and we will get this opportunity again at a later date. I am apologizing on behalf of our team and our school. This is an event I feel was very important for Washington Wrestling.
