To be fair, Oregon State drew around 2,000 per match (although that included one 8,450 attendance night vs Penn State) and Corvallis is somewhat isolated as well, but it also has three metropolitan areas to pull from instead of just one.
Realistically, looking at NCAA averages and guessing for its geographic isolation, as well as comparing against sports like women's volleyball (although VB is pretty well established and has a bit of a cult following out there), I would expect WSU wrestling to get 500-800 attendees per match in a normal season.
I absolutely love what the club is doing and wish it existed when I was there back in 2000-2004, but it's going to be a tall order to get it added as a NCAA D1 sport, especially with the expected loss of income if the PAC folds.
