In reference to boys wrestling: Most all top spots (1st, 2nd, 3rd) on the podium at the dome are dominated by year round wrestlers. Of course there are exceptions and trends within trends.
Additionally, the trend grows exponentially stronger in the lower half of the weights (165lbs and down). From 138Lb and down, brackets are loaded with year round kids.
When you get above 165, it's not unheard of for a seasonal kid to get into the finals and/or win it all. So a year round kid above 165 may have little competition at all. The bigger weights tend to have more seasonal kids because many of them play football.
Of course, there are exceptions to these general statements year to year.
There are pros and cons to year round wrestling, but the podium outcome is inarguable when you look at Dome placings.
