Line-ups

Yesterday, I attended a wrestling match, and an important one at that as both teams were undefeated and ranked. Lots of fanfare and hype during the warmup and announcements of the starting line-ups. As a fan and former coach, an interesting and annoying development occurred at the start of the match. After listening to the announced lineups, there was a 10-minute delay to the match because neither coach wanted to send their wrestler out. They were both trying to be strategic so they could make adjustments to the line-up based on who was reporting to the table. However, this delay made the fans have to wait in an already long match (JV, girls). Eventually, the team that lost the odd-even coin toss had to send their wrestler out first (home team). The away team then adjusted their line-up and sent a different wrestler out than was announced. What is the point of announcing these line-ups if coaches are just going to change them anyways? I think once line-ups are announced then those wrestlers should wrestle there. There was a potential top 5 match-up announced but once the line-ups shifted, this match did not occur. Thoughts?
