I am 100% on board with what you are saying. Could you imagine how much people would b*tch about hosting state at a HS. What HS has enough seating, parking, food, and lodging for 6,000 people? Talk to anyone who went to the football state championship and was the "away team". There was not a covering at seating for 200 people... lol.

I feel that you just take the good in with the bad. Are there things that are less than ideal about the dome? Sure. It is also a place that has tradition and brings us together as a wrestling community.

Kids state might just be a way for the WIAA to defray some of the costs. When short term rental bookings happen a venue usually can't find a use for a Sunday. Some places won't let you rent something for only Friday and Saturday and make you also pay for Sunday.
