How about one single division for an individual state tournament and hosting a dual team state tourney separate by classification....best of both worlds.

In my opinion, duals create the best atmospheres for both casual fans and die hard wrestling junkies.

This would continue the push for growing the sport with duals and allowing for a much higher level of competition for individual state champs.

As both a coach and parent of multiple wrestlers who are/were in and out of high school at the same time, it is nice having kids state on the same weekend, although as you mentioned, it can be very tiring and a little tough logistically.
