While I love the kids and the way the wrestle tough, they do not belong in 1A (despite state rule changes). Its pretty lame for fans to flex when you are competing against true 1A population schools for a team title. Have they proved themselves against tougher opponents across Washington and on multiple out of state tournaments (but you can't afford school lunch?) absolutely. Would they still win titles in 2A? Yes. Would Orting give'em a run for their money? Oh yeah. When it comes down to it though, unfortunately for some VERY talented kids Toppenish 1A wrestling will always have an asterisk by it in most people's minds. All thanks to a group of adult's (school and district administrators) who's egos are wrapped up in their team killing it. Don't be surprised when things get taken away after the state is done investigating.
