But, the 2 major problems at Hanford:
1. The gym is simply too small to host both tournaments. Nothing they could have done, just not enough room. Cant be done.
2. The boys 3rd place matches were at 152 when all other placing matches in both tournaments were finished. Instead of re-assigning those matches to the 3 other open mats, they started girls finals on one mat and broke down the other 2. This alone added roughly 40 minutes to the boys tournament.
3. Based on how the tournament played out, in the future, to run boys and girls tournaments side by side, you NEED 5 mats. (3 for boys). Girls semifinals finished a good 40 minutes before boys, so they pushed boys over to all 4 mats for a while. If there were 5 mats, you could have moved along, STILL wrestled finals on one mat each, and been out of there by 6:30 at the latest.
