As a parent of a girl wrestler i always want my daughter to have the best matched possible. Win or lose. That being said and in my own opinion, we really watered down the girls division this year. We are not ready to be split. My daughter had a 3 person bracket at districts. And almost all of the other brackets were the same. Regional brackets arent full. And what really gets me going is that most of the coaches at our tournament voted to not let 6 girls wrestle because they missed weight. Districts is a qualifying tournament. Noone has qualified for a weight prior to districts so why not let them wrestle where they weighed in? Coaches voted no because it was written in the sop's that they couldnt make changes after they were entered in the system. The same coaches that complained all year that the girls were not being treated equal to the boys. Yet they want to send these girls home and water it down even worse. Great way to build Girls Wrestling.
