It was supposed to be a rotation among the various districts within each classification to ensure fair regional competition. For the past decade, as an example, 4A regional pairings have pit the Big 9 or the GSL against the MCC. The Metro league has paired for 2 years with the Big 9. I assume the GSL is in the 2nd year of its pairing with the Metro league. If true equal opportunity is a reality, then the MCC will pair with Metro league next for 2 years, then a new rotation of District pairings will take place. Travel cannot be used as the criteria for keeping the status quo since the distance between the Big 9 or MCC and the GSL is equal or greater than most current
westside pairings.
