So, I don't see how doing a mat side weigh in is going to promote a healthy weight for each wrestler. The descent plan is already designed to do that. If anything, I would see a mat side weigh is even more unhealthy. Now you are going to have kids that purposely cut to an extreme to make weight for a dual to wrestle a specific kid that night, then eat a bunch of food after there one and only match. The decent plan makes sure each kids maintains the proper weight loss per week that is safe.
