If anyone in this post is a parent in our program I would sure hope you have come to our AD, or more importantly our coach with concerns for development of the program. I may not be the head coach anymore but am still in our building and work with our AD and Coach Troncoso every day and know they always have an open door.
Auburn a riverside has not attended Doc Herren after 2018 along with a bunch of original members who had always attended since my dad created the tournament as the “all spsl”. We decided to stop going because we kept seeing all of the npsl teams and wrestling the same opponent for the 5th time in a season before the post season. We also didn’t get to see teams that we needed to see to be prepared at the state tournament. We added great tournaments like gut check and lake Stevens during that time which have some of the best competition you can ever see. Felt like we could practice develop skills and get healthy for that important run and then peak for the post season.
I was at practices over winter break. Guess I missed where people were “off for winter break” or how the coaching staff took a jv group to the Greeley Open to get matches was “off”. Lots of ways to develop over winter break.
Should be a fun dual against auburn high always look forward to it.
AR is a program that is always going to be important to me. Happy to have a discussion anytime about the program if you want to reach out and not remain anonymous. Great job to the AR athletes/coaches who competed at gut check today and the ones who will be at dick Pruitt tomorrow. Go Ravens!
