I believe they are referencing club coaches that tell their wrestlers not to do middle school wrestling. This has nothing to do with who is getting paid. It has to do with the sport dying off. Club kids or kids with experience help bring other kids in. They help make their rooms and high school teams better.

When schools start dropping wrestling because of low numbers, we will make sure to give you a pat on the back for your time and family time.
