Hey Oak Harbor, that's a great looking board! It would be cool for this thread to have people share what their room's boards look like so that the OP has some different visuals to choose from?

There's always the ole "homemade HS woodshop special," like schools used to do. If your school has a shop, borrow some plywood, paint it, stencil the names on there, the year and the placing. Line the years chronologically on one side so that it has a nice, uniform appearance. Put out an APB around the school to find kids who can paint, have them paint the school name/mascot on there.

I can't even tell you how many hundreds of placer walls have some iteration of what I have described above. If possible, doing it all in house makes it real cheap. Depends on if you have a woodshop, though. I think as long as it recognizes the kids you're trying to recognize and has some semblance of permanence, it'll do the trick.
