When someone is as successful as you son has been people are naturally interested in hearing talk about him, what he has done and where he is going. Since you and I are already friends on Facebook I was aware that he committed to Michigan but I would imagine many readers here didn't. Most of the readers here are just curious fans. Same with most of the posters here but as you and I both know, some just like to stir up sh*% or have been affected in some way by your son.
I was cleaning out stuff at home last week and came across a copy of a resignation letter I had presented to our club's board of directors right about the time our club started to implode. I put it in my to read list and read it this morning. Oh the memories...
That was 20 years ago and if you wanted to see sh&*-talking at it's best, that was the time to be on the board. It was all BS about me and my son and I just stood there and let them spew their stuff anonymously. I left it up there for that whole spring until I got back from Fargo and shut the whole thing down. I didn't know if I was even going to run this site anymore back then but enough people asked me to continue so I opened it back up but started to manage it a lot tighter for the viewers. Whatever you have seen posted here about your family over the years has truly been mild in nature (especially compared to the vitriol towards us) and for the older two Rogers I simply deleted any post I saw about them, which was a personal request made to me.
Be happy that your son has experienced enough success that people still talk about him here even though his last two years he hasn't competed in this state. Staying top of the mind on some people's brain after that period of time has passed is testament to his success. A famous wrestler once said: “... the only thing people won’t forgive you for is success because success means you did something they didn’t.” Sad but true, especially the way society is right now.
Oh well, on to the next phase of life for Rylan and family and I wish all of you success.
PS: A friend and I are still looking into traveling over for a rafting trip if it works out in our schedules. I'll be in touch.
