1) Your body builds up tolerance fast, it takes a lot more to catch a buzz over time, but your respiratory system does not build up a tolerance. This means eventually you might not even be able to get very high on a huge dose, but your respiratory system will flat out quit while you sleep.
2) If you go to rehab and later on decide to get high once or twice, you need to go back to square one with a super small amount. If you try to use the amount you used before it can kill you.
3) Quitting opiates simply means a couple days of feeling like you have a crappy flu. It is a sucky drug that saps your endorphins. Don’t make quitting some kind of giant identity life crisis. Don’t make it a bigger public deal than it needs to be. Just get through the lame physical suck, and go on having fun in life.
As for Adrian, the kid is a joy. Perhaps someone else can chime in on how to deal with desire for revenge to those who foisted this upon him.
