As many have probably heard, the AD at Stanford has announced that they will drop wrestling after this year, along with 10 other sports, from varsity status. This announcement happened in July and the alumni have been working tirelessly to raise a large endowment to keep men's wrestling and to start a women's program. Imagine Stanford having a varsity women's program! That should get us Washington folks extremely excited with the level of success our high school women achieve.
If you care about wrestling on the west coast, please lend your support! Spread the word, write letters, and make a pledge. I will personally match every pledge up to $50000. Every west coast wrestling family should get on board. Check out the Keep Stanford Wrestling website to see testimonials and what we have achieved so far. Our goal is $30 million and are now up to $10 million. To give some perspective, $10 million is already the largest wrestling endowment in the country. With Fresno State dropping their program, we fear that others will be on the chopping block also. If we can help save Stanford's program, the pressure will be put back on the AD's to keep the others on the West Coast. Please do what you can and help us reach our goal to KEEP STANFORD WRESTLING!
