Each year the Washington Wrestling Report publishes rankings all year long for the separate divisions within Washington as well as in All-Class ranking of the entire state. These rankings keep fans informed as to the progress various wrestlers are making during the season and how that plays into the potential team championships which are determined at the Mat Classic in February of each year.
The Mat Classic was completed on February 22nd of this year and champions and placers were determined in each of the five boy’s divisions and the one girl’s division. Some states, such as California, only have one division for all the wrestlers in the state. Since we don’t have that finalization of the entire state the WWR annually does a final All-Class ranking to come up with a list of the top 10 overall wrestlers as well as a projection of how the team race would fare in that situation.
The All-Class ranker works on this all year and after the Mat Classic has completed he compiles all the results and comes up with a rough draft. That rough draft is sent to all of the divisional ranker’s for their additional review and that information is forwarded by the editor to the All-Class ranker who then comes up with a final draft to review with the editor of the Washington Wrestling Report website. Upon our final review and approval the season ending All-Class rankings are posted. This is being completed and we now present our Final All-Class Ranking.
