Retirement #

Year of Manufacture: 1972 to 2021

Hi all. After 49 years in the trade, all as a mechanic, I have decided to retire. I would like to thank everyone who has given me advice over the years and hope that any advice I have given has been of some help. I remember when I was not long out my time an older mechanic said to me when the auto choke came out that this trade is f—-ed. What would he think now. So many changes and not all to the good. I will miss many parts of my job but looking forward to the future whatever it holds.

As others have said enjoy your retirement.
I'm old enough to be called a mechanic and as such think we have been overlooked for our supreme talents but history will prevail.

I sold up two years ago after 42 years,miss some aspects of it but not many.I still mot occasionally for my old garage and every time I leave I am glad I am not doing it anymore.
To keep myself out of the wife's way I work part time for Sainsburys home delivery which I really enjoy.Took two years to sort the tax man out.Enjoy your retirement.

I'm semi-retired - my oldest son has taken over and I go in occasionally as technical advisor (make the tea).
We have been incredibly lucky in these difficult times.
