Peugeot 207 1.4 2007 - Non charge, P1675 and P1676 #

Hi all. I hope you don’t mind but was hoping someone could give a heads up how this system works as I don’t like to guess. There is just one main cable via starter and one excitation wire which must spilt into two in loom. One goes to ecm and the other to multifunction control module 3. There is no voltage to this small wire and to be honest I don’t know if there should be. I think this wire sends a variable voltage signal to control voltage to battery. I don’t know if similar as Ford smart charge but certainly if this wire is disconnected still no charge. Any pointers would be great. After more than 45 years in this trade it’s not getting any easier.

Hi Andrew. Many thanks for taking the time to send me the link. I had already seen this but given more time I went to a link within the info that took me to another pico page about a bmw with over charge but using basically the same system. This was very well explained and how now there are so many components linked to the charging system that the days of guessing, are and should be out the window. Going by the tests I have already done and the info on the pico link it does indeed look like an alternator fault. Once again many thanks.

The last one of these I looked at was indeed an alternator fault,However ,it took 3 attempts of supplier to get a unit that actually worked.So buy with care.

Hi Les,
Peugeot wiring diagram I have suggests the single wire from the alternator goes to the engine ECU, doesn't split and go anywhere else !
If your looking at Autodata wiring diagram, I think that is suggesting that wire is either ECU or fusebox !
It would possiby have a LIN signal on that wire. Measured easily with the scope, if nothing on it, disconnect it from the alternator end and check again.
