Peugeot 208 1.4HDi 2013 - Heater Blower Fault - Fixed #

Posted by Paul Ware on November 14, 2017, 6:58 pm

Year of Manufacture *: 2013
( Optional ) Engine Code or CC: 1.4HDI

2013 Peugeot 208 that I went out to the other day with a non functioning heater blower motor. Tested blower motor and seems fine, I understand heater resistor's are common on these, but the motor doesn't work on ANY speed,

No power going to the resistor pack atall, I cannot find a fuse that feed's it directly, have tested all fuses with a test light on both fuse box's and can see the fan control speed setting being adjusted in live data

Any information available on these? I am suspect as there is no main feed to the heater resistor, or is this switched by the BSI on CAN which is why I have no voltage when tested?

Recently had a Citroen C4 with the same issue.Power to the motor is from the engine bay fuse box.On one of the larger wires in a 2 pin connector.Internal fault within the fusebox. Replacement box fixed this.

Hi Paul,
Just looked in Autodata, pug 208 1.4 HDI 2012 - 2015, and there are 2 AC diagrams available, manual or automatic control. Which have you got ?
Did you check for power with engine running ?

Regards
Dave

Wrongdata shows fuse #1 40 amp in engine bay fuse box. Also as above ,make sure you have engine running to activate the power relay in fuse box.If I read correctly, the power source is the same for both manual or auto climate.

Hi there, thanks for that. Whenever I click on guided diagnostics it always loads a blank page for me. I was accessing it using the VRM. I shall try again now, I have power both sides of fuse one, the 40amp fuse in the engine bay fuse box, looks like we may have a broken wire here then, will confirm after chasing tomorrow. Thanks guys!

Pull the kick panel off on the passenger side you will see two thick wires going into a plug, it'll be burnt out on the plug due to underrated terminal size.

Andy you were right! Pulled the kick panel off and found the 2 connector with the live side of it melted. I've taken photos but cannot upload them on here.
