Hi This F10 has a front wiper fault. They apparently turn themselves on sometimes without any driver input. No pattern to this! After interrogatng the customer and road testing with him next to me, I think I have established that all works as intended except for the intermittant on/off switch not doing anything. Pressing the button for the intermittant on the end of the stalk does not turn on the intermittant and although the wipers did not turn themselves on for me, the customer says when they start working of their own accord, the same button will not turn them off. This is not to be confused with rain sensing wipers, which this car DOES NOT HAVE. I figure either a faulty switch or module. When the car comes back, I'll look in live data to see if the switch on/off is displayed. Can anyone tell me please which module controls the intermittant and its location.I cant see any relays on realoem. Thank you
When the car was returned I EVENTUALLY found code for wiper switch in the dashboard module - I'm sorry I cant remember what it was. Live data showed just about every switch working but live data for the wiper switch missing! After discussion with the customer,I took the plunge and replaced the (substantial) switch. All working fine now, but a £700 bill to fix this? Thats why I'm still running my 1994 Passat!
