Ford Focus Cmax 2007 - Body control unit replacement question #

Year of Manufacture *: 2007

I have to replace the BCU on this car and not having done one before, I didn't know if these units just needed configuring to the car of if they required immobiliser coding as well?

Hi Peter,
If i remember right it was a while ago, but all we needed to program was the front heated screen if it has one.

As Neil says,the only configuration issue I have encountered is if the car is fitted with heated front screen.What is wrong with your Bcm,water ingress?

Its a bit of an odd one. No obvious signs of water ingress but once every couple of weeks it just stops working. Central locking, indicators, heater etc all stop, I can't communicate with it and other modules on the car report no comms with BCM. Disconnect the battery, leave for a about a minute, reconnect and all is ok again for another couple of weeks. Its a bit of a punt going for the BCM but I don't know what else to do with such a intermittent fault! I have advised the customer accordingly of course.

Faults like this could be caused by a poor battery.How old is the battery,and have you done a conductance test ?
