Electric power tools - Best options #

So,

Electric power tools (Ratchets, Rattle guns, etc)

Who is the best choice?

Snap-on, Mac, Other??

What are your personal recommendations?

Hello Paul,
I'm primarily Snap-On, Never cheap but the newer ranges of their tools have interchangable batteries so "Body only" deals are pretty good.
Snap-On repairs are well supported with via dealer (Depending on your dealer maybe

) i.e 1/2" impact refurb is a flat rate of £90+ vat, and come back like mew

I do however have a Milwaukee 3/4" impact gun and so far its been superb and a lot cheaper than Snap-On

.
Must say I've no experience of their service back-up though.

Thank you.

I am tempted with contacting Snap-On (If only because I need some snap-on specific stuff anyway)

But here's the thing.

There doesn't seem to be any way of finding the phone number of my local rep!

I know there is one in the Aldershot area but 45 minutes on the internet and I am still none the wiser as to how to contact him????

I'd replace my 3/8" drive Snap-on ratchet instantly. Wouldn't be without it.
Always found the 1/2" drive battery ratchets bulky, and battery hungry, so I've reverted back to air-guns for those jobs.

One of my colleagues uses mainly Dewalt (who supply MAC) the only upside to MAC stuff is a longer warranty, however Screwfix do it a lot cheaper.

Try Facebook for the local Snap-on rep.

Milwaukee without question.
Had the snap on half inch gun then tried my friends milwaukee and it blew the snap on to pieces, much more powerful and excellent battery life for less money. You also get a 3 year warranty on the batteries, compared to 1 from snap on. Think I paid around Â£400 with two 5ah batteries, but I'm sure you now get 3 for similar price.

Hi Paul

As we are mainly mobile we use lots of battery gear Drill, impact guns etc, every day all day

We have found the best to be Milwaukee without a doubt by a long way. walk all over snap on both physically and warranty wise.

back up is excellent having used it twice in three years with 12 tools owned, one faulty charger changed over the counter there and then and one battery took 5 days.

One warning though be careful with online sellers many sell genuine but US products and you don't get any warranty where UK stuff has a very good warranty even on battery's. but price is higher.

Alan Wadkins in Darlington County Durham do good deals and will post to you and I can recommend them highly.

Personally I wont buy snap-on. There warranty is poor and most of it is chinese.
Milwalkee is good but some of the cheap alternatives are good value for money even sealey stuff does the job at a 1/4 of the price and better warranty..
