Audi Q3 2013 - Unable to reset service indicator #

Year of Manufacture *: 2013

As above, I do not seem to be able to reset the service warning on the dashboard.

With VCDS, I carried out the Instruments/Adaptions/Reset ESI routine and successfully reset the status from "Warning Active" to "Reset"

But the dashboard warning "Service required" still comes up.

Now, there is a fault code listed in one of the minor modules (I cant remember which one but it is something like door or ventilation, nothing to do with the engine/transmission)

Would the presence of a fault code anywhere stop the dash display from resetting?

You'll probably also have to reset distance since inspection and time since inspection. This is usually the case when the vehicle lists both oil change service and inspection service in the mmi.

Hi Paul,
In Instruments, go to adaptions and reset "Warning Active" to no.

From my "cheat sheet":-
Service reset under UDS protocol.
Address 17 - Instruments.
Adaptations - 10
ESI: Resetting ESI.
FIX: Distance covered since last mileage dependant inspection.
FIX: Time since last time dependant inspection.
May also need: -
FIX: Poor oil quality.
Use ”New value” bar to set value, not the clear button.

Sorry it's not a full how to, I just created it as a memory jogger. Found the info on 'tinterweb somewhere.

Hi,

Thanks for all that, I have also checked the VCDS website, there is a "Procedure", though I haven't had the opportunity to try it yet. Will probably do so next week.

I will report back on my success or otherwise, but Why do they have to make it so frelling hard!
