Ford Focus CC3 Mk II 2008 - Drivers window drops an inch #

Hi all.
If anyone can help me with this one I'd be greatful.
Car has problem of the drivers window will drop an inch as if the door has been opened. It will do this randomly as your driving. It can be ok for a week or so then be bad for a couple of days.
The customer has changed the latch, the module in the door. We have checked the microswitch in the door handle but as the fault happened that was ok.
The way we think it works is that the handle or the latch sends a negative to the GEM then that sends a can signal to the module to do its thing.
In our opinion the fault must be on the negative switching side or the Gem unit as it would be a hard fault to produce on the can signal side.
Access under the dashboard is terrible because of the extra support because it's a cabriolet.
Anybody had similar faults?

Hi Neil

Some cabriolet cars dip the widows an inch to stop fouling with the roof, is this the case with your motor and possibly part of the fault ?

Any faults logged in GEM?

No fault codes in GEM. Yes this car does drop window an inch when you open the door, the problem is its doing it whilst driving along

my point is is this a door lock fault or is it a roof fault ??

Have you tried a reset.
The jags and vauxhall vectras suffered the same fault.
All that was needed was to wind the window fully down and hold the switch for further 7 seconds then wind fully up and hold for further 7 seconds.
The fault nearly always returned for some reason but only after a few months, but once the owner new the reset proceedure it became an easy fix.
I don't know if this applies in this case but worth a try.

Thanks for all your help guys. After messing with this thing for a few days fault now hasn't happened for a week so customer is taking it and getting rid.

Getting rid of a car that drops a window an inch every now and again, bit drastic, I would have put up with it
