Audi RS4 2014 - Rear brake pad replacement #

Hi, i have a friend who is needing brake pads on his RS4 2014 plate.

its a choice between genuine or EBC yellowstuff.

ive used greenstuff on my cars to stop brake dust getting all over the alloys but did not notice any difference in stopping power.

what are yellowstuff like, do they need to get warm before full braking power is achieved or are they good straight off the bat.

im pretty sure that vehicle warranty should not be affected with ebc but i told my friend that he should inform his insurance as its classed as a modification.

is it worth fitting these pads, they are a tad cheaper than genuine but the price is not the issue with this vehice (and how often can that be said in this trade)

any advice would be really appreciated

With a car of that power and cost just fit genuine mate you know they are more than fit for purpose.
also ebc yellow and red need to be pretty damned hot to get full braking potential.

I'd fit genuine Ant, they're designed for the car and with it being an RS4 I would imagine designed to take a good hiding.

Regards the EBC brakes, I fitted EBC green pads with EBC discs to my Leon which originally had vague brakes to the point it felt like the pads were made of ice. I noticed an improvement on bite and feel straight away.

However we recently fitted EBC yellow to a 3.2 TT that the owner had supplied and as Sean said, they need to be hot to work. From cold they were almost alarmingly useless.

Ant gen only option really
Owned rs brand for along time & tried various options but gen part works best

This is having genuine pads, as long as they are needed as it was in for warranty work and pads were recommended on health check

Dealer were correct Kev, they were well worn.

Slightly off topic, why do the genuine pads have two brands on, they are made by brembo/pagid, i did not believe these companies are tied.

Hi Anthony

I was told a while back that Brembo do not make brake pads, they only make disc, calipers etc. So the pads may be Pagid (original OE fitment quality)

I doubt if the Pagid pads from ECP are the same
