Year of Manufacture *: 2008
Have a Fault on the wipers on one of these, its the type with two motors and park on the screen on the pillars. The fault is as follows he drove the car home and the wipers would not switch off even with the key removed. They then didn't work at all, but now working and occasionally will present the same faults. Just interested if anybody has any insight in to this system or suffered any similar problem.
I'm assuming that the two motors must talk to each other else they would crash on the screen, so there must be an ecu to control the motors. From my limited information i can get on the system the wiper control unit is the same unit as the relays live under the steering wheel. (j519)
it then looks like it communicates over lin to j519 on-board supply control unit, then to j527 steering column electrics unit, which by the diagram has the switches on it.
Anybody had any dealing with this system and how to test the control units to prove what is faulty.
Thanks
Steve

Sorted, lin wire between central elec unit and N/S wiper controller motor, had chaffed and corroded on the battery box, in the inner wing.
