Vw Golf BKD 2008 - Non start (no crank) no dash lights - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2008
( Optional ) Engine Code or CC: BKD/C

Car brought in on AA truck.
Ignition accepts key and the starter relay can be heard to click when turned to crank but no dash illumination (apart from clock panel) and no crank.

Various fault codes for no comms, to many to list but will do so if anyone asks. Communicates with VagCom through all ECU,s except engine ECU?

Found no power on load side of starter relay, with power applied to this circuit (Fuse F1 10a Fascia fuse box)dash restored and vehicle starts and runs. As soon as you remove the external 12 volt feed the dash shuts down and car dies.

Obviously the 12v feed from the multifunction control module which powers this circuit is missing but why?

Am I correct in assuming start is authorised as the relay can be heard to engage?

Comms with Engine also return with the external power supply(no codes logged)
Would you agree that its looking like a muti function module fault?

Will be having a longer look at it tomorrow and would appreciate some advice on possibly the best tests to perform next or some system strategy information.

Just had a quick look at some wiring diagrams.
If I have the right ones then that fuse F1 is switched from the multi function module relay and the supply for that relay circuit comes from the under bonnet fuse box 40A. Two fuse plates so have a look there.

Correct chris and this fuse has been checked for that reason and its fine.

Have you checked the supply is reaching the J519 central electrics/onboard power supply unit, and or if there is output there to the fuse 1?

Also what fault codes you got in the J519 central electrics/onboard power supply unit?

Traced to faulty k75 relay.

Where is this relay Luke, and what is the description\circuits, just for future?

Relay panel above pedals behind fascia in front of multifunction control module.
Far bottom right relay (4 pin) numbered 460 in position k75
The opposite end houses the same relay type in position k15
Will try and edit post tomorrow with an image and description.

My experience with these is the relay to the right in the lower corner of the plate is the k75 load relay which controls heater blower,w/screen wash and rear wiper.The relay k15 is ignition control relay,on the left of panel .Both are relays with the larger spade terminals on the pins 30 & 87.
