Seat Alhambra (Also applies to ford) Front strut removal #

As above,

Any suggestions as to how to remove the front struts given that the shock absorber top nuts/threads have spent the last ten years sitting in a pool of water as a consequence of the piss-poor design and are now shapeless blobs of rust!

(If you have come across this, you will know of what I speak!)

I'm trying to remember the last one i did like that but I'm sure i had to carefully cut through the top strut mounting washer as it was the cheapest option. They are a bar steward though

I know you shouldn't but is it not possible to use a mini ductor to heat up the nut and use a snapon twist socket.

Those snapon twist sockets are the bol*ocks for rounded of nuts and have saved me a few times in the short while I've had them. I believe they now sell deep reach versions.

Same as John i cut the top strut mounting washer!!

Not ideal but.
