Hi, using VCDS fault codes
01826 sensor for steering angle G85 supply voltage terminal 30 intermittent
00493 ESP sensor unit G419 implausible signal intermittent.

Wiki Ross tech says that for the 01826;

Special Notes
When found in Audi A4/S4/RS4/Cabriolet (8E/8H): Brake Electronics, these are the most likely causes if the Basic Setting fails or the Fault comes back shortly after clearing. See TPI 0984403 for further details.
MY 2001: Steering Column Control Module (J527) was the most common fault
MY 2002: Steering Angle Sensor (G85) was the most common fault
MY 2003/2004: Experience has shown the Steering Angle Sensor (G85) were the only cause, Steering Column Control Module (J527) were not defective yet.
MY 2006/2007: Steering Column Control Module (J527) was the most common fault


Looking at the wiring diagram there are no colours or identification for the wiring between the control module and the steering angle sensor so how can I check for supply voltage to steering angle sensor? The supply 30 goes into control unit then to steering angle sensor.

Have you tried clearing and doing a steering angle reset to see if it comes back.
Most common is G85 its self
But still check the feed from T30 of course
