The curse of non genuine sensors #
Posted by andyhyoung on October 8, 2015, 7:08 pm Over the recent few years,I have seen an increase in the use of non o/e sensors and the subsequent failure over a very short space of time,or don't work correctly from new,out the box.Looking at recent posts on this forum, there are techs wasting a hell of a lot of time on faults caused by these critters.Biggest grief seems to be abs/crank cam sensors and coils.A few weeks ago saw a Golf coil explode, well I guess it should last more than a week.As far as I am concerned, all that these sensors do is fit the hole where they are located, and they don't even do that very well, and not much else.So as far as these spurious parts are concerned,I,m out.Genuine or nothing for my customers.
