Wonder if any of you could help me with this one?
Come out to this car in the morning will not open on central locking, get in via passenger door lock, alarm goes off put key in ignition red immobliser light keeps flashing no reaction to key. Turn key all ignition lights come on but completely dead, alarm keeps sounding. Keep trying for maybe 5-10 minutes suddenly remote locking starts working still dead on key. Cycle key several times suddenly car starts. Stop and start car several times no problem.
I went away from vehicle for maybe 15 minutes came back and had same cenario again. Got it going drove 5 miles stop starts fine now even after leaving it all day. When the fault is present battery is OK, jump pack makes no difference. It is not a voltage issue.

Any fault codes via a global scan. Any boxes not communicating.

Hi Ian yes there are are lots of codes (it is a range rover after all)
U0155 lost com with instrument cluster control module
U0166 lost com with auxiliary heater control module
B1A87 battery disconnection /electronic control unit reset
U0073 control module com bus off
U0100 lost com with engine control module /power train control module
U1A03 vehicle configuration parameter
U0155 and U0166 are permanent the rest are intermittent.

Is this a sport as i have got a wiring diagram for the sport if required.

I had a similar fault on a sport which after lots of scoping of the networks with no faults obvious to me [still on a steep learning curve].
With the instrument cluster apart and connected you could twist the cluster board to recreate the fault.

But there are lots of boxes and wiring that can cause your problem. hth.

Just a note to say that the fix on this was the fusebox/body control module under the dashboard. It went in the end to a Landrover specialist down the road. Didn't want to get involved and be responsible for every other fault that happens from now on.
