Hi
Can any body help with procedure to fit new clutch-worn out.
Looks like it might come out underneath but tight also exhaust over bell housing? also gear lever tie rod secured to gearbox by long pin and there does not appear to be enough room between box and transmission tunnel to remove it?
We have done one before without taking the body off, extremely tight and time consuming. I would not attempt to do this again without body off.
Thanks
Joe

Nothing hard to the job its just a big old lump.
Usual rear prop/front prop off, disconnect slave cylinder pipe, electrical connectors, take 2 10mm bolts under gaitor inside, remove crossmember and let gearbox hang by the engine to get more access to the top of the box the and the pin you are talking about get a big lever bar and gently lever box away and you will get enough room to slip the pin out and other lever is held on with a c shape clip, multiplug near front at top for xyz sensor which needs relearnt aswell when finished.
Worst part can be the bolts and brackets holding turbo crossover pipe to bell housing, this needs removed as it covers very top belly bolts which needs a long 1/2 inch extension bar or double up shorter ones. And there is a bracket from the turbo to bell housing aswell which can be a pain i leave exhaust alone and bend bracket away if bolts holding it to exhaust won't come out. Clutch can be a pain aswell to bleed when done, a pressure bleeder helps.
Just a case of unbolting what you see in the way and couple transmission jacks and genlty easy it back.

if the clutch has been slipping badly you may have to carryu out re-set proceedure for reverse lamps & gear shift indicator in dash, its well documented on net, keith

thanks for the input everybody,i did the job only extra thing I did was remove fuel tank, and sure enough when I had done it the reverse lights would not work but when transmission ecu reprogrammed they worked ! which was a relief. also be carefull of traping the wiring loom at top of bellhousing when refitting gearbox.
