Renault Scenic 2010 - Electric Hand brake fault, coding new unit to car - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2010

Hi lads any one changed the Hand brake controller on one of these, the old unit is faulty I was going to fit a new unit but it seems there could be a problem with coding the new unit to the car.

Yes, new unit will need coding.
What faults are you getting??

Pull conduit back near plug, wires can rub thru here.

Yes a new unit will need programming with Ch. No, engine type, etc. etc. with Clip or DEC

Cheers Mark the wiring is ok it was an int/memory fault seems the coding can only be done by Renault, its an online coding job even Autologic can not do anything thanks for the reply Tom

Just looked on my autologic unit, and configuration menu is there, so can't see it being a problem.

No they can't do it just spoke to them it has to be done at Renault Internet coding, AL don't have the coding software for these late Renault vehicles for the hand brake controller, seems to be the way things are going, been told clip won't do it ether.

I fell flat on my ass with one of these a few weeks ago.
The new module was fitted and did work but the automatic functions didnt work. I tried to code it with autologic which resulted in total loss of handbrake.
AL said oh yeah we cant do them when i rang in about it.
Car ended up at the dealers for online programming.

Hi there Ed sorry for the late reply been on hols, yes that is what happened to me after the garage with this car supplied a new unit but I got back the use of the handbrake with Clip, then it had to go to the dealer for the same online programming to regain all functions.

Was asked by a clip owner the other day to do one of these as his clip will nolonger do them. Anyway I used a DEC with no problems, so it seems whatever Renault have changed with the module, it does not yet hinder the DEC

So we are saying a £500 tool can do this but a £7000 tool which is supposed to be the best aftermarket diagnostic tool out there can't.

After trying for the second time I can confirm that the Super Scan will not program the handbrake controller on a Mk III Scenic 2010 onwards, This must be taken to the Dealer for a Internet download ???

The Dec will program the MK II only
