Ford Transit JXFA 2009 - No 3rd gear after clutch replacement #

Afternoon, I don't think there is any chance of this not turning into a nightmare.
New clutch fitted to rear wheel drive transit. Every thing perfect apart from it seems like 3rd gear is missing? 1 to 6 all good on the road, gear stick selects 3rd, selector on outside of box moves but its like it is not there, no drive?? Pushing it further forward makes no difference

Anybody any ideas before I rip it back out.

The bolt on bracket at the rear of the box, that holds the cables (if my memory serves me right), is on slotted holes. But I thought that would cause you issues with 1,3 and 5. might be worth slackening off and moving.

did it have 3rd before you did the clutch ?

just a thought, you took the gear stick out to do the clutch, so did all the bits go back in properly , there are a few little rubber blocks that slot in some where from memory, and if they are not in right things get screwy.

thanks for taking the time to reply.

Andrew, You are spot on. No 3rd gear before.
Couldn't get my head round it, seen one of the workers from the firm and asked him he said it had been missing for weeks, boss only knew about the clutch and I only drove it across the road into my workshop.
Needless to say he wasn't a happy bunny when it was left to me to tell him the bad news.
2nd hand box on way.

Must admit did wonder ,company next door to us have 3 transits only 1 has full compliment of ratios,quite common no urgency to fix either!
