Hello all
I am having a problem getting to the bottom of this problem with a 2005 5 door Polo.
Customer reported a central locking fault. Sure enough with the key (non remote) in the drivers door, the central locking doesn't work. I also found the electric windows (front power windows only fitted) don't work from the drivers door.
I removed the loom from the door and have checked each wire to the door lock assy and the window switch for continuity and stressed them = all good.
The doors lock and unlock on the interior switch and passenger door. The passenger front door window goes up and down on the passenger switch, but not the drivers door switch.
Fault codes read with VCDS = in central electronics there was a fault code 01044 - control module incorrectly coded 35-00
The module 35 is central locking, this will not communicate with VCDS. Looking on Ross Tech Wiki, it appears that there is no C/Locking module to communicate with.
In the comfort module 46, I checked the coding which is 00019. looking at the coding list it looks like it should be 00064, as it only has front electric windows. If I put the 00064 code in, the rear doors don't lock/unlock with the internal switch or passenger door key. so I have returned that to 00019, even though 00019 isn't in the coding list.
The car has now been returned the customer, and will be rebooked for further investigation, in the meantime...... any helpful pointers? Please
Finally got this working. So new door lock motor = will central lock on the interior door switch, but not with the key in the door (not remote key). Front electric windows not working (rears not fitted). Checked and confirmed door loom checked = ok. I bought another Polo, same spec to swap bits over. swapped over convenience control unit and the central locking control unit. No change.
Eventually I found that there is blue/white wire that goes from the door lock into the window motor controller, and then blue/yellow one from there to the convenience unit. If I link these two together I get everything working, if I take the link away it carries on working. If I disconnect the window switches, I lose c/l and e/w again. ????? So I have fixed the car, but frustratingly I don't know what!!
Still I've now got a nice little Polo I can sell and claw back some lost time/money on.
But I would love to know what on earth is going on.
