VW Polo 1.4 2007 - Cost of exhaust #

Year of Manufacture *: 2007

Hi

Had this car in yesterday with exhaust blow at front flexible piece between the 2 catalysts, not available non gen so checked VW price £660 + surcharge for return of this section.
as to be expected owner was flabbergasted at this also rest of exhaust looks poor so cost is prohibitive. Has anyone had a new section of flexible fitted successfully and where this is available from.

Hi

we have fixed loads of these, just by flexi repair section from local factor, about £15, and weld it in.

thanks aiden and tony, one other point with the sections been made of stainless steel and presumably the original exhaust also the same does it need somebody with special welding equipment.

Hi Geoff

A Stainless exhaust will weld ok to mild steel with a Mig welder using steel wire.

special wires are available and used in dustily but wouldn't worry on an exhaust.

The ends of the flex sections are mild steel so no problem welding to normal mild steel exhausts.
